The Year Of The Cannon: Arsenal 2024-25 Home Shirt

Adidas has unveiled the design for Arsenal's home shirt for the 24/25 season, blending a minimalist approach with a classic aesthetic. Notably, the shirt showcases the Arsenal cannon in lieu of the traditional club crest, marking the first time in 35 years for such a change.

The club crest holds significant meaning, symbolising identity and encapsulating a club's rich history and heritage. Departing from this tradition is a bold move, yet Arsenal and Adidas have embraced experimentation in recent seasons. Since the 21/22 away kit, they have periodically replaced the traditional crest with the streamlined cannon on select kits. However, this season marks a departure from convention as the iconic cannon adorns all of their kits, starting with the home shirt.

Debuting in the final match of the WSL season on May 18th when Arsenal Women face Brighton, the new home shirt retains the traditional red and white colors, complemented by navy accents in the Three Stripe branding—a detail last seen in the 21/22 home shirt. Navy also extends to the side panels, creating a seamless visual flow between the shirt and shorts. The use of a distinctive structured fabric throughout adds texture, particularly noticeable upon closer inspection. Additionally, the cannon, featured outside the crest, harks back to the 1989/90 season, adding a nostalgic touch to the design.
